IPL, World Cup final and more: 6 cricket matches to watch this weekend

There’s plenty of cricketing action to expect this weekend. Those in Mumbai and Pune can head to the stadiums to watch three thrilling matches which are lined up in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022). You can also watch them on TV/online.
Here is a quick guide to the weekend (April 2, 3) for all cricket lovers in India.
Apart from the excitement of the IPL, there is the 2022 ICC Women’s World Cup Grand Final. This is happening in Christchurch, New Zealand.

In IPL 2022, six teams will be in action this weekend. There is a double header on Saturday followed by a contest the following day.
Five-time champions Mumbai Indians will face 2008 IPL winners Rajasthan Royals on Saturday at DY Patil Stadium, while later in the day debutants Gujarat Titans will meet Delhi Capitals at MCA Stadium in Pune.

On Sunday, the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings take on the Punjab Kings at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
Mumbai started their campaign on a losing note against Delhi Capitals and will be keen to bounce back as Rajasthan recorded an easy win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their opening games. Gujarat also made their IPL debut with a win against fellow debutant Lucknow Super Giants.

Chennai, under new captain Ravindra Jadeja, lost two successive games, against Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow while Punjab got the better of Royal Challengers Bangalore in their first game.

On Sunday, old foes Australia and England will face off for the Women’s World Cup trophy. Australia are unbeaten on their way to the final and are favorites to win the trophy. The Indian women failed to qualify for the semi-finals, finishing fifth in the standings.

Also this weekend, April 2, Lahore, Pakistan and Australia will take part in the third ODI.
April 2 also marks the 11th anniversary of India winning the World Cup captained by MS Dhoni. Players and fans will remember this special occasion on social media with photos and videos.
Apart from the limited fixtures, there is also a test match between South Africa and Bangladesh in Durban. The match started on Thursday.
